Just finished Dan Brown’s Digital Fortress! For a plot I found that I couldn’t put it down and in the end it was read in under a week which is great going for me.
I did find the technical accuracy questionable and a few places I was shouting “No!” out loud. At one point Dan Brown writes about an agent locking her terminal with a utility called ScreenLock that stops people from altering files when you’re away from the computer. Arghhhh! What’s wrong with Windows + L or CTRL + ALT + DELETE and then Enter. Even Fedora, SUSE and RedHat have password protected screen savers! There was no need for an entire paragraph devoted to locking her screen. Hmmm.
Other than that, great read, and for £3.99 well worth the investment!
